The Swindon IVC book club is a sub-group for members of Swindon IVC. The book club meets about once every 6 to 8 weeks at different venues, often in people's houses. A theme/genre is chosen and then a book (or two) is picked for that month. Very informal and sociable so, if you like talking about books, having a good discussion, and meeting up over a drink and some nibbles, why not come along?
Our last read, chosen by Denise was "The Life Inside: A Memoir of Prison, Family and Learning to be Free" by Andy West and was discussed on 3rd May 2024 at The Runner.
For our next read, Zoe has chosen a classic read: "When I walked out one midsummer morning" by Laurie Lee.
Many of us will have read ‘Cider with Rosie’ and this book continues his autobiography with him leaving home in the mid 1930s, walking to London, then earning enough money to buy a ticket to Spain, where he walks across the country in the period immediately before the civil war. It is reported to be very evocative, romantic and unsentimental at the same time.
The date and venue are still tbc.

New members are very welcome but should contact the host in advance so they get included on the time and other last minute details of the next meeting.
Happy reading!
