Swindon IVC Events Discount Scheme

Background

IVC relies upon a healthy number of events every month in order to maintain social interaction within the club, and to make the club attractive to all of its members.

As a full member of the club you have accepted the responsibility of arranging three events per membership year (1 February to 31 January).

As agreed at the AGM in November 2002 the full membership fee will be increased by £10.00 to £35.00 per annum from 1 February 2003.

All full members are assumed to have met their event commitments for the year 1 February 2002 to 31 January 2003 and at the February 2003 membership renewal we will all qualify for the £10.00 discount.

Thereafter, each full member will be given a £10.00 discount to membership if they have committed three or more events to the programme in the previous membership year. Those full members who fail to meet their commitments will pay the full membership fee of £35.00 per annum.

Each member will be notified of the relevant amount they owe at each membership year renewal.

Rules

The committee will be responsible for administering the scheme and events will be discussed at each committee meeting from the previous months programme and will be marked against the relevant full members name on the membership list in order that the full member will qualify for the event discount in the following year.

The committee will be responsible for judging whether events appearing within the programme qualify towards the event discount scheme - e.g. a cynical event such as "a walk around the M25" that nobody attends might be rejected.

If two people hold a jointly run event each will be classed as one event commitment marked against their name.

The event discount scheme shall form part of the offer of full membership to the club and all new members shall receive a copy of the rules of the scheme with their full membership offer letter and membership form issued by the Membership Secretary.

Any temporary member who becomes a full member will have the requirement to commit to three events waived until the next membership year renewal and therefore these members will automatically qualify for the event discount scheme at their first renewal date. After this time the normal rules will apply.

Events that appear on the Yahoo Groups (formerly e-groups) e-mail system will not qualify for the Event Discount Scheme only those events that are committed to the programme shall qualify.
